The Christmas trees at Community Care of Rutherford County

If you are looking for a way to make your Christmas decorating easier and give back at the same time, you need to make a trip to Community Care of Rutherford County, located on County Farm Road.
Each year, Community Care of Rutherford County, Toys for Tots, and local organizations and businesses create a wonderful win-win situation. Businesses and organizations of all types are invited to sponsor a tree. The trees and decorations are purchased by the sponsors and brought to Community Care and decorated in the designated spaces around the facility.  Each sponsor chooses the theme and color scheme of the tree. Once decorated, the bidding begins. Bids are made by staff and visitors to Community Care. The money raised goes to Toys for Tots and "votes" for your favorite can be made by donating additional toys for the program and placing them under your favorite tree. Once the bidding deadline is reached, you have a Christmas tree and all the trimmings to take home and enjoy or share with someone else.
Our staff has participated in this program for about three years and it is always such a joy. Each year we have used different themes and we are always eager to see the creativity of the other sponsors.
The residents enjoy seeing the trees and the visitors that come to decorate their facility.
Take the time to go to see the trees, say hello to the staff and residents, and maybe get a great Christmas tree!
